In the year 313 BI, while the Laons were still struggling to gain a foothold on their new lands, several thousand humans from the Hithan Empire in the Chulgeth, settled in the south center section of Alsa Eru. They were considered by many to be a bloodthirsty race, but luckily, were too few in numbers to cause any serious damage. They developed a small nation called Ghandar, named after their deity of conquest, Ghandan. For several hundred years, they terrorized the sirish, the Laons, and the predecessors of the Tleks. In 629 BI, the then emperor of Laon, Ku Wal, had had enough of the Hiths, and sent an army into Ghandar to "pacify" the barbarians. The army, several thousand strong itself, went into Ghandar, and several bloody battles were fought, before the Laon armies and generals were able to get a solid grasp on the lands. The Laons started by lording over the Hiths, and even made many of them slaves, but eventually began integrating themselves by intermarrying. Laon, unfortunately, was having many troubles with Balorand, and was unable to keep a grasp on Ghandar, and within a few more decades, in the year 658 BI, Ghandar declared itself a sovereign nation, under the new name of Khandia, named after the blue lotus flowers found so frequently throughout the lands. This nation had a strict caste system, developed from decades of Laonish overlords lording over Hithan slaves. Eventually, the Hithans and Laons of the country relinquished their past heritage, and through many intermarriages and local mating, became what we know of today as Khandians. Being so close to the sirish, it was only natural that they traded secrets with the reptilian folk, and nowadays, the Khandians have just as high a level of technology - if not moreso - than the sirish.
