The Goblinoid Racial Class

All goblinoids have the option to take levels in the goblinoid racial class, though most adventurers elect to take class levels instead. The lone exception to the rule is the bugbears that begin play with three levels in the class. They often advance their levels of goblinoid to catapult themselves directly into the assassin prestige class without ever committing to any particular character class.

Goblinoid Class Features

All of the following are class features of the goblinoid racial class.

Weapon and Armor Proficiencies

A goblinoid is proficient in all simple and martial weapons and with medium and light armor, and shields (except the tower shield)

Special Class Ability (Ex)

A goblinoid may elect at level one to have either bonus feats as a fighter, or to gain sneak attack progression as a rogue. He cannot select both, nor can he alternate between them. Once the choice is made there is no changing it. Most hobgoblins who take levels in the class elect to take the fighter bonus feat progression. Most goblins who take levels in the class elect to take sneak attack instead. Bugbears seem to be split between the two options evenly.
