Here is my character!
Vhaes Hemek Buur
Level 1
Race: Perjan
Class: Priest
Religion: The Priest-Kings of Zjafoud
6 Strength, 11 Intelligence, 15 Wisdom, 9 Co-Ordination, 17 Health, 12 Charisma
9 HP
Prayers: Cure Wound (Minor), Charm.
Possessions: 7 Drachma, light Ankan mace, hard leather armour (ankan style), fashionable linen tunic, fortified sandals, leather belt, small beltpouch, waterskin.
Weight Possible: 600
Weight Carried: 332 (partially laden)
Fortitude CC: +3, Wisdom CC: +1
Brief Description: You stride purposefully, entirely intent on wherever it is that you are going. You are blissfully unaware that your life is about to be changed forever. As your eyes first fall upon him a strange feeling seizes hold in the pit of your stomach. You contemplate this sensation, devoting all your mental resources to its understanding. It seems as if you have always known it, but merely forgotten. Suddenly, comprehension bursts forth from the deepest recesses of your mind. You fear this man. You fear that you are unworthy to exist in the presence of such grandeur. You try to look away, but your gaze snaps back! Behold, Magnificence!
You now realize that this is a man of great compassion. He will surely understand and forgive your many inadequacies. His skin is deeply tanned, as that of the righteous often is. His head is shaved, the better to receive the light of the heavens that shines down upon him. You nod sagely. Yes, you are beginning to understand the totality of his greatness. A massive and well-oiled plaited beard of sublime blackness bedecks his uncommonly handsome face. Such style and grace could only have sprung forth from the loins of great and ancient Ankan. It is a true blessing that he wanders so far from home; surely this is the work of the Gods. His glorious roundness is accentuated by a fashionable linen tunic of the highest quality. Atop this garment he sports a segmented leather vest dyed in the rich oranges and yellows of his native land. He looks over at you as he passes. His eyes, a deep green, bespeak a hidden power. You turn to follow his passage. You stand motionless, slack-jawed and dumbfounded. Your eyes begin to fill with tears as he recedes slowly into the distance. This is a day you will always remember.

TMG, you still need to roll HP.
you have an armor DC of 11, potential protection of 2 (and actual protection of 2, thanks to your high health.
Love the background. Just love it.

Ok. I assumed for 2-8 I was supposed to roll 2d4, I got 7, and if I recall correctly I get +2?
So, 9.
Edit: Also, a level one character starts off being able to cast 1 prayer spell point per day, but I have 2 with the +1?

You are all over it.
9HP is great, and you get 2 prayers per day with your +1 for the High wisdom.

Accis, World of Bronze and Heroes
I've playtested this about a dozen times now.
It's fun in that you can make a character in 10-15 minutes and be upp and running. Also fun if you like an Old School d20 feel, and if you like that really mythic feeling.
Last night, Llum, TMG and I bombed through another hour long session of a journey to see the Auger of the Sepent Oracle, in the Tarploon Hills. On the way there, they came upon a wagon being attacked by a huge, 7' wide spider with a warrior woman injured inside. Her honor guard was running away, except for on brave soldier.
after a tussle, including a few scary spider bites, Triske the Lion split the spider in half with a huge hit of his axe.

PCs are always considered to be full Denuri.
Most NPCs are considered '˜Companion Denuri', capable of gaining experience only when with Full Denuri. Almost heroes, companions to heroes, the Band of Merry Men, call them what you will. If 5% of the population is Denuri, 90% of Denuri are Companion Denuri.
Companion Denuri need to be in a group with Full Denuri to gain experience.
If a companion denuri never joins up with a full denuri, they will never start gaining experience.
Companion Denuri who have joined with Denuri gain .25 experience during their first adventure trip.
Companion Denuri who have completed their first adventure trip gain .5 experience when in the company of Denuri.
Companion Denuri who have completed three adventure trips with a Denuri gain .75 exp when traveling with a Denuri AND .25 experience
These rules are set up to simulate the mythic, heroic feel of the bronze age world. Heroes really are tougher, stronger, smarter, and blessed by the shadowy forces.

working on a change to HP.
splitting HP in half. the lower half are considered physical HP, real wounds and damage. The upper half are considered partially stamina and endurance and ability. These are called Endurance HP and Physical HP.
The upside is that players regain the upper half after a good night's sleep. All of them. They can also regain 1 endurance HP after a half hour break after a combat, and fghters and priests can heal 1/10 their endurance HP with a gulp of wine after injury. SO there is a lot more healing going on.
The downside is that physical HP heal more slowly, by magic or by rest, and rest means one per night if a Fort CC of 15 is made, or a minimum of one HP healed per three nights.
So if Patricus the Warrior has 10 HP, he splits them into 2 tracks, Physical and Endurance. HP 1-5 are physical, hp 6-10 are Endurance HP. Patricus can take up to 5 HP a day and still recover and be in peak form the next day. It is only when he takes more damage that he starts dealing with sprains, cuts, strains, wounds, etc.
Please notte that a PC can never recover more endrance HP then they ahve physical HP. SO if Patricus Takes 7 hits of damage one day, % Endurance related and 2 Physical, if he misses his Fortitude CC the next day and remains at 3 physical HP, he can onl regenerate 3 Endurance HP the next day.
Opinions?

Leave it to Vreeg to have Wine function as a healing potion.
I think this is a really cool idea. It gets across the idea of "minor" vs. "major" wounds without being too complicated. The quick healing of endurance hp sounds like a good way to keep PCs in the game, while the real damage lingers. I'd like to get a clearer picture of how magic interacts with these, though. You mentioned that Physical hp heal slower "by magic or rest," but I'm not clear as to what slower means in regards to magic.

Looks similar to what a couple of other systems have done with their HP, and I mean that in a good way. I like the general concept of both your changes and theirs, and your execution is just as good if not better than any other execution of the idea I've seen.
In terms of HP representing exhaustion or endurance, I think the boozing does make perfect sense actually - especially as you define it as a "gulp" of wine. A whole bottle would probably wipe you out, but a quick hit of alcohol can help, at least in the short-term. Just last night I used the same method effectively in the real world; drinking a beer towards the end of a 14-hour shift at work made everything suddenly seem totally bearable again!

I shall make a book unlike any you have seen. A book of wonders... A book of the Hakote, and you shall read it and see it and still you shall not believe what I have done!
In its infancy the world was beset by demons. Their pettiest whims were like whips that lashed at humanity, at nature itself. For many centuries they have been gone; defeated, trapped, banished. Humankind has used this time to grow fat and complacent, to swaddle itself in the blankets of civilisation.
Now, thanks to the rash and ignorant actions of a few foolhardy adventurers, the demons are starting to regain their power, and the many-faceted eyes of the Beyond are turning in the direction of this world once more.
The harbingers of the second demoniac onslaught are already at large in the world, and humankind's only hope may be the people of the wild North who never forgot the demons, never called them legend or fairytale.
The mighty-thewed warriors, cunning tricksters and gnarled wise-folk of the barbarian lands shudder as an ill wind blows, and prepare themselves for the bloodletting to come.

Well, Accis is my more simple, d20 variant. So I want it to be simple while stil getting this idea across. I am woring on a similar version for GuildSchool. You seem to get most of it. I always hated the idea of the character with 25 hp who took 5 sword blows without really knowing how much if any was 'real', then gets wiped out with one more.
Magic helps in 2 ways. You have general 'curative spells', very typical priest-ish spells, which can heal 1-3, 2-5. 2-7, etc hp at a pop. There are also spells that increase the heal rate after sleep and a few that allow for increased CC rolls, which help make the Fortitude CC more easily.
When I said, "slower", I used the term in regard to Endurance HP.

This reminds me of Vitality/Wounds from Unearthed Arcana, and I think Star Wars uses it too.
However, unlike those systems, it seems that you're basically using traditional HP and the distinction in your system only matters to recovery. I don't see anything inherently wrong with it, but I do want to ask-- for a light game like what it seems like Accis is trying to be, does this extra level of verisimilitude (if you could even call it that) and bookkeeping (you could definitely call it that) even
add anything
?
I mean, the thing about being able to get some health back from a gulp of wine is kind of cool and evocative, but that could just be a thing by itself. I'm not sure if the fast-and-furious, simpler-is-better atmosphere of OD&D really
needs
a mechanic like this.
