Last 20 Shouts:

Fever in the Blood was pretty much an Anne Rice homage (also George RR Martin's superb and underrated Fevre Dream).

Believe it or not, I haven't seen that one yet. Just looked it up though. Honestly I was more Inspired by Steerpikes work.
Sounds like you've been watching Interview With the Vampire!
Gonna make one!
This deserves a thread laugh
But consider: vampire Homstead Act land grabs.

Setting Idea: Gothic Horror/Alt. History where Louisiana became engulfed by Darkness during the Civil War, and became an Aristocratic State run by Vampires, and other horrors.
In time, my friend, in time.

LoA

Sounds right up my ally. Please share more.
Working on Industrial Magitech where a magocracy of Capitalist Wizards mass produce magic items by teaching common workmen assemblyline fragments of spells.
Chaosium also did really well.
Unsurprisingly considering the ridiculously good products they've put out this year, Lamentations of the Flame Princess is cleaning up at the ENnies.
This is both fascinating, boring, complex, and absolutely retro-tastic: https://www.scribd.com/document/227358408/Aria-Roleplaying
No but I want to. Got a link?
Did anyone else happen to be watching The International last night when OpenAI's DotA bot beat a pro player 2-0?
LoA, the kind of questions you've been asking lately would be much better served by making a thread, rather than asking in the Tavern. It'd allow for longer answers, and people with the same question later on will be able to find your thread and read it.

There's nothing wrong with creating lots of threads if they ask valid questions and lead to good discussion. I only get on people's case for doing that when they're redundant or pointless.

LoA

Are there any better 3.x/PF resources for modern and futuristic settings other than D20 Modern/Future?
I think what you need to ask yourself is what you want it for. If you just want it for inspiration and like what it's selling, then sure, grab some of its books. If you want to play it but don't know who you'd play it with, you might want to hold off until you know. There's no reason why you couldn't just throw the same game together (thematically) with another system - the only advantage you might get from it is having everything pre-made, and not necessarily well.
Yes. Just for the game design innovation it represents, it's worth $15 for a PDF. And it's also just a *damn* good game. There's plenty of podcast/stream recordings of it in play, if you want to get a feel for it before you commit (since you've got completely opposite answers)
